What Do I mean by the Living Field

Listening to the quiet intelligence of the world around us

March 6, 2026

We live in an invisible web of energy, intuition, and presence that is constantly moving around and through us. Most of us were taught to notice the physical world first, the objects we can touch, the places we can see, but many healing traditions recognize that there is also a subtle field of life that surrounds everything. It is responsive, intelligent, and always in relationship with us. When I speak about the Living Field, I am referring to this dynamic, energetic presence that connects us to one another, to nature, and to something greater than ourselves.

Many people experience the Liing zfield without calling it that. It may be the moment you walk into a room and immediately sense the mood before anyone speaks. It may be the calm that washes over you while standing among the trees, or the sudden feeling that someone is thinking about you just before they call. These small meaningful experiences hint at a deeper truth that we are always participating in an energetic environment, one that is alive, aware and subtly communication with us.

In energy medicine and spiritual practice, we begin to pay closer attention to this relationship. Through meditation, shamanic ceremony, sound, breath and intentional healing work, we learn how to listen more carefully to signals in the field. When we do, something remarkable begins to happen. Our intuition becomes clearer, our sense of connection deepens, and we remember that we are not separate from the world around us, we are participating in it continuously.

The Living Field is not something mystical that exists somewhere far away. It is present in every moment of our lives. Learning to sense it is less about gaining a special ability and more about remembering something we once knew naturally, that life is relational, responsive, and deeply alive. When we slow down enough to listen, The Field is always speaking.
